HANG GLIDER & PARAGLIDER PILOT
EXPERIENCE:
I started my flying career as a hang glider pilot. My first 1000 hours of flight were spent between coastal flying and the mountains. I've flown the Owens Valley, the Cascades, high Desert, and several USHGA competitions. I've worked as an advanced instructor, tandem pilot, and designated aerotow tug pilot. I'm well seasoned and familiar with all the ass-kick'n air and high altitudes we fly.
Flying since 1991 (USHPA #54580)
Advanced Rating: H4
Ratings & Special Skills: H4, AT-FL-PL, AWCL, CL, FSL, RLF, TUR, X-C
*In addition to hang gliders, I've accumulated another 500 hours in paragliders and paramotors.
Ratings & Special Skills: P2, CL, FSL, RLF, RS, X-C
TRIKE EXPERIENCE (Weight Shift): The normal progression after piloting hang gliders is to then add power to the system. In year 2000 I purchased my first single place ultralight and learned the art and balance between soaring and assisted (powered) flight. In year 2002 I purchased a 2 seat North Wing Apache Sport trike and joined EAA. I soon completed my BFI program (Basic Flight Instructor) and started instruction shortly after. I have a tremendous amount of cross-country (XC) & Fun Flights spanning throughout the country. The Photo Gallery on this site shows only a few from hundreds if not thousands of adventures. In addition I'm also a designated aerotow tug pilot endorsed by USHGPA.

General Aviation:
In 2008 I started my training program for Private Pilot in Chelan Wa. I was signed off to solo the little C150 after just nine hours of flight time and that's when the "bug" really hit me. I traveled to Gwenette Co. Georgia for better weather and to train in controlled airspace. When weather decayed in Ga., I was off to Falcon Field Arizona to finish my flight training in more controlled airspace. I received my private certificate in May of 2008 after 41 hours of training. Then it was off to seaplane school in Lake Havasu Az.
